Trash to Treasure

Trash to Treasure

Mark comes by some unusual things in his line of work. Being in the construction field the guys he works with just toss things away not looking to repurpose or salvage the items.
The other day he brought me home a treasure (that’s what I call it). It was an old wooden organ pipe from the 1900’s. There are about 15 pieces of these wooden pipes that were going to be tossed out to the dumpster.
I wasn’t sure what to do with it at first. Then I had idea to drill 2” holes in it and make a nice unusual centerpiece with candles for my long harvest kitchen island.

At one time this old organ pipe was used in houses of worship to bring parishioners enjoyment with the sounds of music. Now it brings me enjoyment as I have repurposed trash into treasure. By repurposing the organ pipe we have saved a bit of history.  "History worth repeating."

We are still working out the details on the piece, but in the meanwhile I have an original organ pipe candle holder. I am going to local shoppe’s to find out if there is any interest in the newly repurposed and rescued organ pipes.

Let me know your thoughts.
